The Golden Hour

I don't think I will ever tire of living in this beautiful place. We finished our dinner and then had a little wander out of our village. Only, we didn't expect to go quite so far.

More footpath exploring, our favourite passtime.

Until the sky turned dark and stormy and we hotfooted it back to the house for a cuppa and a slice of delicious home made lemon drizzle cake.

Nature Walk

After school, Mr Bee and I decided to go for a walk to the end of our street. There is a fairground setting up so we thought we would check it out. But then we started walking, and well, we got a little carried away. We found ourselves just wandering through footpaths and byways and oh, all of the things we saw.

Horses, White Sheep, Black Sheep, Black AND White Cows.

Bluebells. Lots of Bluebells.

Two tractors. A Massey Ferguson far away and a New Holland up close. We are getting good at this tractor spotting. Mr Bee was very impressed with this 'spikey pick up' one!

We had a five minute sit down, and Mr Bee collected some sticks. Any guesses as to what he made ??
And on our amble back we found the most beautiful magnolia tree, stunning.

Oh, how I am enjoying this countryside life. We need to make a habit of this!

Answer: An Aligator!

Home

I've missed this. Wednesdays with my boy.
School really does get in the way of having fun sometimes. This gorgeous boost of weather has perked us both up so we planned a lovely picnic and a daytrip with no set destination.
A bad nights sleep for me, meant lots of pain in the chest area so no driving for us today, Mr Bee was very upset that we couldn't adventure, but after a slow, recovering morning, we had a picnic at home then popped to the garden centre to stock up on goodies.

And so the rest of our afternoon was spent deep in compost, repotting some more succulents, sowing some seeds and getting some plants out in the fresh air. It was lovely to get out in the garden for the first time, who knows what will happen. I am not a green fingered lady, but I can but try!

After a light dinner, we nipped out for our first evening stroll of the year. It wasn't cold and it was still light so off we trotted to the fields around the corner for a little explore of our village footpaths. I love this countryside lark.

It was so lovely to enjoy a day during the holidays with my boy.

Jack Frost

We have been in our little house for nearly 4 months now and it is safe to say that I love living in the countryside. This morning we decided to get ourselves all wrapped up and head out for a walk around the local foot paths near our house. It was a frosty and misty morning which made for a truly beautiful walk.

We walked, we got lost, we had a run in with a naughty horse but the general sense of accomplishment from negotiating ourselves around the unknown countryside was absolutely fantastic. I certainly think we need to invest in a local OS map!
