Wandering
We took our friends for a wander around the village and the neighbouring countryside. It was wonderful to be out in the fresh air and not be too cold! It was just right.
Once we had tired the boys out, we headed home for ham and pineapple homemade pizzas before three sleepy dudes were ready for their beds!

New Years Day
A traditional New Years Day stroll. This year we stayed close to home and walked our local countryside.

Home
I just can't believe that it is coming up to the anniversary of spending a year in our house! This time last year we were totally stressed about Solicitors and moving but oh, it was worth all of it to have our own little house, in our own little piece of England.
Our house hasn't changed too much since we moved in, however we have turned it from a plain white box into a homely, white box. Though we are yet to add any colour to our walls (it is high on our to do list), we have added character to our house in other ways.
A few months ago I made a little blind for our kitchen window. Although I am proud of my handiwork, it is a stationary blind and the Mr doesn't really approve, so it seems that I will now be on a mission to find a new blind for the kitchen.
I may have fallen a little bit in love with this gorgeous Bambi print which is a Disney and VELUX collaboration (available from https://www.roofblinds.co.uk). Though I know someone small would approve of having the character from his favourite Disney film adorning our kitchen window, I don't think the big one would be persuaded!

Elsewhere, we have been making little updates here and there. We finally got around to getting a floor lamp for the living room, however none of us are happy with the emergency lampshade we bought! We are on a serious hunt for something grey and skinny! This gorgeous hare lampshade (available at http://www.lollyandboo.co.uk/) is just downright perfect don't you think!
I am sure there will be plenty more things that we will add to our house, we have so many plans and though the house already feels like home, I am sure that feeling with only grow. Here's to many more happy years in our little abode!

Progress!
I hope we are all enjoying the heatwave we are having! It has been super super hot here in the UK so we have been trying to keep cool in the garden and this afternoon we visited our local Lido, it was pure bliss!
Meanwhile, our garden has exploded just a little! Our tomatoes which were worrying me slightly, have gone mental! There are so many flowers on them and some teeny weeny fruit growing!!
Sadly, the strawberries have taken a massive hit in the form of slugs. My gosh, I never knew that I could hate the little creatures quite so much. They have obliterated many of my plants which was devastating. But luckily, we have managed to get them under control and they seem to have gone away, YAY!
The peas and beans are producing nicely and the sunflowers are still slowly growing.
On the ornimental side of the garden, the rose has 4 buds forming and in the pots, the bulbs are growing nicely (though I can't remember what I put in them...).
It is such a pleasure tending to my little potager!

Waterfight
This afternoon we attended a school friends birthday party. All of the kiddies were so incredibly sweaty from zooming around on the wheely things and bouncing on the bouncy castle. In the party bag, Mr Bee found a little water pistol, so as soon as he got home, he stripped off and commenced a water fight with Pappy.
I'm not sure who won, they were both wet through by the time they called it a day!
