Hardwick Hall

Yesterday we decided to have a nice family day out and risked the weather to visit Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire.
It is a National Trust property that we have been wanting to visit for a very long time now, so Papa Bee suggested we visit there. We packed up a picnic and headed off bright and early.
There was the Old Hall (which is maintained by English Heritage) and the New Hall, along with beautiful gardens and acres and acres of parkland.
Mr Bee insisted that we took his tape measure along with him, he measured anything that he could!

We played whilst Papa brought the picnic back from the car. It was yummy, we had salami pittas, our favourite crisps and jaffa cakes.

There was a wedding taking place in the Hall and we were lucky enough to catch glimpses of the bride and groom having their photos taken around the house. In the photograph below you can see the bridal party being photographed in the rain.
The gardens were so pretty and Mr Bee enjoyed smelling all of the herbs and flowers.

After our lovely day out, Papa Bee made us a surprise dinner, Calzone, and possibly the best one he has made to date!
