Bluebells

Can you believe that the bee is now 7 and a half?! I mean it seems like only yesterday that he was a cute little toddler who loved having his photo taken! Now my teenager in training is really not so keen (I would hazard a guess that years of having a camera thrust in his face might have something to do with it, hmm!) so I thought I would take him on a 'real life photoshoot' to do a bit of location scouting.

I secretly think he loved it!

Advent Preparation

So this year it seems that I am late to the party. I mean, it isn't even December yet and everyone seems completely Christmas crazy already! I can't believe how unprepared I am this year, but this weekend, we have embraced the winter weather and seasonal festivities. We spent the day in and out of our little village visiting the craft fairs, music perfomances, fairs etc in celebration of the Christmas lights switch on. It was a modest affair but we made the most of it!

Winter scenes over Felicity's Wood.

The rest of our weekend was spent getting all of the decorations ready for our little house. Our beautiful little tree has made its way indoors and has been jewelled with fairly lights and sweet little wooden orniments. Louie and I carefully constructed our first ever wreath, a tradition I hope to keep going. It will do for a first attempt and I love the way it makes our house look so homely!

Tomorrow begins December, we are ready.

A Wildflower Walk

A quiet Saturday afternoon spent at Felicity Wood its surrounding areas. Mr Bee and I packed up a bag with a blanket and some things to do and went exploring. We waded through the stream to get across to the meadow, coloured in fishes and practiced writing, stumbled across a ginormous patch of Forget Me Nots, millions of bluebells and lots of dandelions and clocks. We found a natural spring and climbed rocks and big hills.
Even though the sky above us was a dull shade of grey, we had one of the best days out in a very long time.

Catching Up

Weekends have become a rather mundane part of our week. With the winter drawing out, we have been staying closer to home, having ritual Sunday morning breakfasts, bread baking and finding some fresh air. This week has been hectic. Work has been full and busy, and not without its distractions - rescuing a poorly stray cat from the local village car park. Luckily 'Pip' is safe and sound and looking for a new home. Meanwhile, Papa has been knuckling down trying to get all of his assignments and dissertation finished. He has been working hard and we have been trying to keep out of his way!

Sunday morning, Mr Bee and I headed off on a little drive into the countryside to find somewhere to walk. Louie was keen to use his binoculars, he loved looking out over the view, he didn't spot any birdies though. We were so pleased to find a new place to explore and can't wait to bring Pappy to come and play!

A Woodland Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Mr Bee turning three. Surrounded by family and friends, old and new, we ate yummy homemade food, talked A LOT, played with new toys and had an awful lot of fun!

A big, huge thank you to all that came, we had a fantastic time and Louie is still too excited to go to bed ;)
