Happy Easter

As we aren't spending Easter at home this year, we haven't been organised enough to prepare a hunt for Mr Bee so we outsourced instead! Since yesterday I have been feeling a little better, so I cut down the pain killers to a drivable level (wahoo!) and made a trip to the local NT property, Gawthorpe Hall, just down the road (its a pity it is too far to walk!

Todays hunt was a bunny hunt (which did make me laugh as there were many signs stating that there was to be no animal hunting in the grounds...!) with fantastic little clues and this time, Mr Bee was able to do the whole thing all by himself, leaving me to amble behind him taking a few photographs whilst he had all of the fun!

Can you spot the rabbit? Mr Bee was very impressed with his chocolate bunny, who went for a little hop in to the tree for a photo!

We took a walk through the woodland to make our way back to the car, playing hide and seek (he hid, I found him, over and over again, he isn't very good yet!) and looking at the different trees! We did find this moss and fungi growing on a tree stump which Louie decided was a 'mossroom', we had a good chuckle about that one!!

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter Sunday and eating as much chocolate as you possibly can ;)

Annual Lunch and Ramble

It is nearly time to welcome in another new year which means only one thing, our annual trip to our favourite restaurant, The Three Fishes. This year, Dan and I had some precious time to ourselves as Louie wanted to stay home and play hot wheels with Auntie Elle. It is rare that we get to spend an afternoon as just husband and wife so we cherish that time when it comes up.

After our terrific, and I mean terrific lunch, we had a lovely walk around the surrounding countryside. There were terrific views of Pendle Hill and other hills that we couldn't identify. With out printed out map, we navigated our way through fields and kissing gates and over bridges and styles. It was an adventure into the unknown and utterly thrilling. A passtime we need to explore once we are back home.

Clowbridge Reservoir

We took a post Christmas walk to a local beauty spot in the chilly winter air. Wrapped up snugly, we made the mile and a half walk around the water, taking in the truly beautiful surroundings. Lancashire is mighty beautiful in the snow.
Just a little bit pleased with how my photographs turned out today!

Home from Home

Last weekend we spent some time visiting Dan's family up in Lancashire. It was a long, 4 hour drive which played havoc with my poor old legs. When we finally arrived, we visited a new local restaurant for some yummy grub which we stuffed ourselves silly with.

In the morning, I was relieved of my motherly duties and I had a little solo shopping trip. A whole hour to myself and it was absolutely lovely. After a visit to the Grandparents, we went to the annual family fireworks night. Cow pie, Lindisfarne mead and Lemon Meringue Pie accompanied the pyrotechnic show for the kiddies.

Sunday, we drove through the Lancashire countryside and oh what a beautiful morning it was! A breakfast at our favourite farm shop and cafe, Roaming Roosters with Grandma Julie and Dave. We picked up lots of goodies from the shop, a steak stir fry (which was absolutely delicious) and some shin beef to recreate our wedding meal!

It has been one hell of a weekend and a very, very busy start to the week!
