Wish You Were Here

We are having a wonderful time here in sunny Cornwall :) I am writing from our site in the evening sun, enjoying the beautiful view! We have hardly left the beach since we arrived. Our cars were barely unpacked before we were dragged down to the beach by an eager pair of little legs!
We have been building fort sized castles, churches and running in the sea. Yesterday we stayed at 'Grandads House' (what Mr Bee has named our holiday apartment) all day and made visits to the park and the beach on several occasions!

Today we visited St Ives. The shops were as delightful as usual, we had a lovely lunch at The Yellow Canary (I stand by it being the finest pasty in St Ives!) then spent most of the afternoon on Porthmeor Beach. Which ended up in an emergency pair of shorts for Papa, who was itching to get into the sea, and a pretty Cath Kidston bikini for Mama!

Thats it for my virtual postcard, but I will check in later in the holiday! It is forecast rain for the most part of the Jubilee weekend, but I am sure we will make the most of it nonetheless.

Away We Go

Today we have been busy bees packing for our holiday to Cornwall. 10 days in our favourite place, and it even looks like the weather may be nice for the duration!

The cases are packed, cars full of 'jungle juice' (as my Dad always called it) ready for the 6 hour journey. Mr Bee is itching to get on the beach, he just can't contain it any longer! Heres to lazy days by the sea, visiting picturesque villages and late nights on the beach.

St Ives

The most beautiful place in the world. (In my opinion of course)

We spent our first day and our last day in St Ives, exploring all the beautiful shops, heading in and out of the little lanes and alleys. We found ourselves on the beach several times, with Louie charging off to make some new friends or try to play with a seagull.

After we had our dinner, Louie was raring to go to the beach again! With his bucket and spade at the ready, he hovered around the door until we let him free.

On our last day, we headed back to St Ives, because we love it so much. Isn't this just the most beautiful scene, all the little houses overlooking the harbour and that lovely sandy beach.

The Sloop
Merky weather and rain hasn't stopped play!

Gandad, I want to do the jigsaw right now!

Waiting for the train back to the car

We've been on holiday!

Cornwall, the venue for our family holiday every year. Only we haven't been for a few years. It is by far my favourite place on the planet, so it was only right to introduce my darling Louie to it :)
We stopped off at Newquay on our way to Beachside, Hayle.

Louie absolutely adored the freedom of being able to run around the beaches. As it is out of season, we pretty much had beaches to ourselves, so it was lovely to let him explore.

After getting back, and settling in, we went for a stroll on the beach before bedtime. This is our beach :) It is so beautiful.
