Sunday. Dan decided to take us on a jolly to a National Trust property he had been reading about. At short notice, I decided that I would take my old camera, the 550d which has served me well for 5 whole years now! Paired with the 50mm prime, it is nice and light (without the battery grip) so it was nice to just snap away without the extra weight.
For some reason, I just felt like getting some moody, low key photos of the flowers. They weren't quite going over yet, but they were well on their way. I really enjoyed using both of the pieces of equipment that I don't really reach for these days. It definitely made a positive change!!

Halloween 2016
As per usual, we spent our Halloween weekend at a National Trust property, this year it was Wightwick! We had a great time doing the trail and playing in the autumn leaves.
I'm really going to miss it when someone is too big for dressing up as a little skelly!!

Wightwick Revisited
It was a cold and wintery morning, Mother Hen had a taste for adventure so off we popped to the West Midlands, to pay a visit to Wightwick Manor. Last time we visited, the house was closed and the weather was incredibly soggy. I was super excited to visit here with the house open though, to explore the arts and crafts interior and the abundance of William Morris furnishings.
I wasn't disappointed.
There was so much to see, it was a little treasure trove. Every where we looked, we were surprised by something different and interesting. I knew it would be a winner with Mom and Roger. The house was so full of glorious light, I could bask in it for hours.
So it was a peaceful weekend without my boys. And luckily, this time, I didn't manage to get myself in any trouble! What a relief!
