A Day in the Life

A day in the life of a working mum's day off.

Shopping
A quick nip to the supermarket for some mid week essentials.

Breakfast
Fresh coffee and toasted brioche with dark chocolate spread. With the luxury of not having to share.

 Making a mess
Making dinner and baking. I always manage to fill my tiny kitchen!

Clean Up
I lose count of the times I wash up...

Washing
Midweek washing catch up

Lunch
An open faced chicken salad sandwich. Magnificent.

 Time Out
Just time for a cuppa and some researching before the school run

Sudbury Sunday

Some well needed family time, out in the fresh air. The dust and pollution in the air still seems to be around making everything feel so dull, but it was warm and breezy and beautiful to sit and just enjoy the peace and quiet.
Mr Bee had a field day in the toy museum after we munched our lunch out of doors, the first time this year.

Puddle Pals

Today we went on a rather muddy walk. We played on the mud filled play park and then went for a walk. Isaac was seeking out all of the deepest puddles, we managed to avert a Vicar of Dibley moment when Isaac nearly got engulfed by the deepest puddle! He got so muddy that we had to take his trousers off to go home!

Anna whipped up a super quick and delicious Tomato and Red Pepper soup for lunch that went down a treat. A usual afternoon of chatting and drinking tea, doing jigsaws and playing with the cute little Aligator, I mean, Alistair!

Back into the Swing

After three weeks holiday over Christmas, then a week of extra at work I am so glad to be back to normal. A little peace and normality has been resumed. This morning I took Mr Bee for his annual pottery painting, making a birthday party piece for his party. This years theme is still under wraps, a big surprise for our little chap.
Then an afternoon in the kitchen (making as much mess as possible...). A home baked bloomer, a delicious Carrot and Coriander soup, a first in our kitchen, certainly not the last and a deliciously moist Chocolate Guinness Cake which I haven't made since I was a teenager.

Routine never felt so good.

This Week

It has been a funny old week. Last week of work before the holidays (just one day to go!), baking bread, enjoying hearty soup and making christmassy treats, even though the Christmas spirit is just not sinking in this year.
Friday I finally had my first physio appointment which has crippled me for the weekend! Today we had a hobble around Calke Abbey for a visit to Father Christmas. Mr Bee was stricken by shyness and wouldn't look at Santa, let alone talk to him :(, aside from that, he has been a little angel all weekend.
