Perfect Sunday

How is it nearly the end of October already? It feels like I have skipped out on so many months, I've been so busy with my new job and my photography that I have neglected myself!! So today I marched the boys out for some fresh air, we went to Baddesley after a trip to the farmers market. We did the herb trail inside the house, which was perfect for Mr Bee, then we did the halloween trail outside. We completely missed the point, but thanks to our top notch Shakespear knowledge, we aced the quiz without the clues ;)

We finished up the day with a spot of food shopping and then a delicious chicken, leek and ham pie and a good snuggle up on the sofa! Just what the doctor ordered.

Footie

During the summer term, Mr Bee has been having football lessons as part of an afterschool club. He hasn't been so good at taking part, but has has loved the extra time playing with his friends. However the best part of the course was of course, getting a medal at the end!

Gawthorpe Hall

We spent the weekend up in Burnley for Popa's birthday. Papa Bee wanted to take Henry, Popa's Yorkshire Terrier, for a walk around Gawthorpe Hall, a local National Trust site. Only the grounds were open as it is out of season, so we had a lovely walk around even though it was bitterly cold.

I loved the attention to detail around the house.
Mr Bee was more interested in the Burnley FC training ground which you can see from the car park. Mr Bee's love for football seems to grow on a daily basis and he was so excited to see Papas favourite team running around. He was desperate to join in!

Boxing Day

It is a tradition in many households to go to your local footie for the boxing day fixture. As Papa, Grandpa and Greatgrandpa are all footie fiends, and we were all local, we thought it would be a nice birthday present (yes, Papas birthday is on boxing day) for us all to go. It was Mr Bees first football match!

We have been wanting to take him on the match for a very long time now, but we were told we couldn't take him until he was two years old, and with only a month to go, we thought we could get away with it ;)
We wrapped up all warm and stopped off at the club shop for a special treat for Mr Bee, a Burnley hat!

However, it was nap time, and who is Mr Bee to let lots of cheering football fans stop him from getting his beauty sleep!
He even slept through a goal! Through all the clapping, cheering and sqealing! Such a funny boy!
He woke up during half time though and was raring to go for the second half. He didn't think much to sitting in his chair though and paraded up and down the row where he could get a better view. He was much more interested in the program for some of it though!

We were very lucky, in that Burnley beat Doncaster 3-0!! Mr Bee must have brought them luck, as their mascot is Bertie Bee!
Goal Celebration
Mr Bee LOVED the football (even if he was supporting the wrong team :p but don't let Papa hear me say that! Come on you blues!!)

There was even a BIG birthday surprise in store for Papa, Grandpa had arranged a picture on the big screen  for him and a special birthday message! Lucky Papa!

Saturday 9th

Today was a beautiful day! Gorgeous weather in the 20's, perfect for playing in the garden, picnics, racing on wheelybugs and football, of course!
Today was a big match for our family, Leicester V Burnley. Us being from Leicester, Dan and his family being from Burnley. Last season Burnley were in the Premiership and we were in the Championship, so we didn't get to play eachother, but Burnley were relegated and we stayed put so this year, we had two matches against eachother. The first match, played at Turf Moor (Burnley) ended in 3-0 to Burnley.
So David (Grandpa) and Grandpa (Great Grandpa) came down for the game! I tried to get tickets to go but unfortunately, they wouldn't let Louie in :( Their rules state that he should be able to walk on his own, unaided and sit on a chair on his own, unaided, both of which he can do! No lie there! But they said he was too young :( So I donned my Leicester shirt in good spirits and we put forward our predictions, Mom guessing 2-1 Leicester, me guessing 4-0 Leicester.
Leicester scored at about 23 minutes, then went on to score three more in the second half!
Leicester 4 - 0 Burnley
So it is safe to say, that Dan was quite a sore loser yesterday!
Dave brought down my belated birthday present from himself and Jo and Elle. It is the most beautiful sewing box, Cath Kidston :)

My present from Elle, a cute hedgehog pin cushion!

So this morning I have sat and organised everything, as my last, very small sewing box was shambolic to say the least! Louie helped me sort all my bits and bobs and throw away all the odds and ends that can't be made use of.

So hopefully, Louie permitting, I can get on with some bits today and have some more to show you this evening! :)
