A Not So Quiet Day

 Lego, Breakfast in the garden.
Walking, feeding ducks, playing football, cheesey toast, chocolate cake, playing by the water, making friends, seeing lots of deer.

Roundabout, zip line with Becka, a rare go on the swings.
A feast with friends al fresco, water fights, playdough, bright blue skies.

Yesterday I called off my plans in favour of a day of pure rest after my busy working weekend. A nice lazy walk through Bradgate Park with my boy in the beautiful sunshine was just what I needed. However my day still seemed jam packed.
When we got home, Becka asked to come round to visit, shortly followed by Papa, Vito and Joe, who had been revising for the big exam today. We all cooked a massive feast for our dinner and had a lovely evening in the sun listening to music and getting into water fights!
Not quite what I had in mind at all and certainly an early night was needed!

Late Night Makes

It has been a while since I have posted about any of my makes on here. Last night, before a well deserved early night, I made a couple of Thank You cards to send to some very important people. I used some of the bits and bobs I got from the paper craft fair last weekend and my stampin up 'thankyou' stamp. I think they are pretty cute!

Don't you just love sealing envelopes with washi tape! Such a nice finishing touch.

NEC Baby Show 2012

This weekend I shared my weekend with a bunch of wonderful people spreading the word of cloth nappies at the Baby Show in Birmingham. It has been a jam packed few days, making lots of sales and generally spreading the fluffy love. I got to meet some of my lovely Gurus again and some new ones too, especially good to see Asta and her baby twins and also Michelle over at Fluffy Mummy
Smartipants EU

It was great to see all of the other nappy retailers doing so well this weekend too, with the familiar favourites, Bambino Mio, Close Parent, G-Nappies and the infamous Tots Bots!
On Saturday, Hannah came to our house to park her car and drive the rest of the way with us. It was so lovely to see her again and I think she was pleased that she got to meet Mr Bee. He seemed to quite take to her! Thankyou so much Hannah for helping us, I know you will be reading!

Big thanks to the beautiful Susie for helping us too!

And this was the most wonderful surprise. The thoughtful Michelle was kind enough to bring us a big box of gorgeous looking cupcakes!! I managed to scoff one on my lunch break but sharing the stand with a Vegan and a dairy-free lady, I was left with the whole box to myself! Of course I am not that greedy, they will be shared around!
One more day of my long working stint, its been a long week but totally worth it to spread the fluffy word.

Wednesday

This afternoon, Anna and Isaac came to our house for a catch up. We decided to make the most of it not raining and walked around the corner to the park. It was the first time we had taken both of the boys to the park together. Louie had lots of fun as usual, playing on the slide and the climbing rocks. I think Isaac enjoyed himself too, exploring the grass and swinging on the swings.

We got home to Papa making us burgers for dinner. Louie was excited to help use the burger press. They were yummy, but Louie didn't much like the chili peppers in it :(

Treasure in the Attic

Yesterday, Papa Bee was having a root around in the attic when he stumbled upon a suitcase full of these beauties!

Now you may know that I have a big interest in photography, which is why this was such an amazing find for me! I assumed that the collection belonged to my father, of which I get my passion from. However, after speaking to Nana Bee, I learned that they actually belonged to her Uncle, who was an avid photographer.

The collection included a Rollei 35 circa 1970-1971, a Kueb Kiev and a Lubitel 166B which could be from anywhere between 1980-1990. Then an assortment of lenses which don't seem to fit any of these cameras. There was also a photograph of my Great Grandma, my Grandfathers mother.

I would really love to get them cleaned up and see if any of them still work, providing that is okay with the rest of the family. It is amazing to know that these were some of the cameras which captured all of the photographs of my mother and my aunties and uncles childhood.

If anyone has any knowledge of any of these cameras I would be more than interested!

Hermit

I'm sorry I have been a little quiet the past week or two, we haven't been up to anything exciting really. Staying home because of the dull weather, trying to make the most of staying indoors building dens, playing trains and reading books.

This week also involved some making, ready for a craft fair that took place today. Anna and I spent they day at Hinckley URC and although it wasn't a very lucrative day, I had lots of fun with little splodge, Issac!

How smiley is he! Cutie pie!

Housewifing

I have been feeling a little like a Domestic Goddess of late. Spring cleaning, baking and making on top of the usual cooking, cleaning and washing. Not to mention planning for a redecoration of our bedroom. Picking out new colours, arrangements and soft furnishings. What a great feeling!
I have been trying out some new dishes and bakes, along with the old favourites.
Raspberry Curd Steamed Pudding

Peri Peri Chicken and Spicy Rice
