Summer Holiday

It has been a fantastic long week. Playing on beaches, swimming in the pool, exploring little villages, rock pooling, eating, riding, reading, late nights... oh the list could go on with all of the busy things we have been up to!

Now I have returned home, Mr Bee is still in the South West with his Nana and Grandad and looking back on all of my photographs, it has been a beautiful week.

Autumn Holiday 2013

A week spent in Cornwall with the family. Battling the weather, but we still had a fairly nice time!

Summer 2013 Bucket List

The weather has been teasing us with high teen temperatures masked with harsh winds. This week I have been longing for the summer, an unusual thing for me as many will know!

Daydreaming of spending hazy afternoons with picnics at the meadow, playing in the brook, listening to summery tunes and feasting on home made picnics.

Camping in the Cotswolds, our annual family trip moved to summer from the autumn.

Visiting more country houses and gardens, Kedleston Hall, Stowe, Farnborough Hall.

Eating breakfast al fresco.

Summer munches, homemade ice cream, strawberry picking, summer pudding, homemade jam.

Our late summer holiday to Cornwall. A week by the sea, exploring the beautiful beaches and quaint villages. Cream teas and pasties in our favourite haunts.

Spending the entire day in the garden, playing football and cooling down in the paddling pool.

So how much of the list will Summer let us get through I wonder?

Mr B's Famously Fresh Ice Cream

When we went on holiday to Hayle, Cornwall, it is safe to say that Papa and I were very excited to be able to visit Mr B's once again. We discovered the amazing ice cream parlour on our last visit in September. We went to Mr B's every day for the remainder of our holiday!
This year, we visited again (of course) 4 times during the holiday including a visit to the shop further down the road, where we had yummy waffles and a pot of tea too.

On the days we visited, they didn't have my favourite ice cream from last time (they have so many flavours in rotation now!) so I enquired if it would be making an appearance before we left. The lady kindly suggested that if I wanted to order a tub, that Mr B would make some specially - of course I leapt at the chance and ordered a litre tub of the finest Jaffa Cake ice cream!
After a 9 hour journey from Hayle to Leicester, it was a little squishy but we got it in the freezer and I must say, it is just perfect. I wonder how long it will last...!

A Photo A Day, On Holiday

1. Castle Drogo en route to Cornwall. 2. Playing on the beach. 3. St Ives - Porthmeor Beach enjoying the weather whilst it lasts. 4. Exploring Godrevy beach. 5. Mr B's. 6. Glendurgan Gardens. 7. The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. 8. Flambards theme park. 9. Lanhydrock. 10. Horse Riding

Well we are now home from our summer holiday. I had planned to do a photo an hour on holiday but the time just flew, too busy having fun I suppose! The weather could have been better, with three days on storm warning, but we did the best we could with the weather - wearing (out!) wellies and raincoats facing the wind and rain head on. It was a truly needed break, but we are glad to be home. Roll on next year!
