Attingham Estate

They say that a Sunday well spent is a week content.

This morning Pappy took us on a little family road trip to Attingham Park. Though Louie and I have been before, it was Pappy's first visit. We enjoyed a yummy lunch, a very slow amble around the deer park, den building, race running (though not by me!!), deer spotting, resting in the walled garden, warming by the fire in the bothy and a great cream tea before heading home.
A standard family Sunday out of doors, blowing the cobwebs away.

A Day in the City

Today we took a trip into our local city. Having moved out to the sticks, we don't have much time to pop to Leicester as it isn't as convenient as it used to be so today, we thought we would make the most of it.

We visited the Highcross Shopping Centre to spend some of our Christmas/Birthday money. A book for me, a weather experiment kit for the Bee.

We nipped in to Bru for a delicious hot chocolate, and someone insisted on having his photo taken 'laying' against this wall with New Walk in the background...

We walked to the other side of town to New Walk Museum, seeing the sights of Leicester on the way. We studied photographs of India, marveled over the Picasso face plates and had fun making our own art for the childrens exhibition.

At 4pm, we had a date at Peter Pizzeria for a school friends birthday party.

And of course, we didn't want to be left out, so we brought two pizzas home for supper!

Louie Turns 6!!

This morning we were woken bright and early by a brand new 6 year old! Someone was rather excited about his birthday, so we got up and let him have his presents first thing. This little bee was rather spoiled, receiving so many wonderful gifts from his friends and family. Particular highlights included new the Doctor Who Lego set, Eddie Stobart trucks for his collection (not pictured) and the den building kit!

After a quick nip around the corner to our local Farmers Market, we quickly had some sausage sandwiches before making our way to Birmingham for a full day of fun at the Think Tank.

Louie was fascinated by all of the fossils and skeletons, however he was rather concerned that I would see the fossilized fish so he hid them from me. (For those of you who don't know, I have a rather silly phobia of fish and he thought I would be scared, bless his little cottons!)

The Spitfire Floor was obviously going to be a winner with the boys, and Dan was very excited to try on the pilots gear!

Kids Corner was absolutely brilliant and Louie was completely immersed in the role play. He was a dentist, a doctors receptionist, a barista (though I am still waiting for my decaf cappuccino...), a plumber and a taxi driver!

We watched a wonderful film in the Planetarium, answering questions about whether there is life on other planets. At this point it was dinner time so we headed over to the Bull Ring for our dinner, Handmade Burger as requested by the birthday boy where we all feasted on some yummy burgers.

I can't believe our baby boy is 6 and his birthday is all done for another year!
