Joules V.I.P

On Wednesday, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit our capital to be part of the Joules AW15 press day which was taking place in Covent Garden. I was one of 10 lucky winners, chosen as Joules' Biggest Fans from a Facebook competition. I was absolutely gobsmacked of course, but I jumped at the chance of taking a sneak peek of all of the lovely things which will probably become part of my wardrobe in the future!

It was an early morning, Dan took a few hours off so that he could take Mr Bee to school and I hopped on the train to make my journey down south. Upon arrival, I was asked to choose three of my favourite pieces which I had to tell to a very lovely camera man (of course, I was equally as interested in the camera as I was the Joules stuff...).

Everything was so beautifully laid out. From the podium of wellies, the very cleverly engineered RAIN display to the enormous breakfast table (which you couldn't eat!), the attention to detail was utterly magnificent.

The AW15 Press Day showcased the very best of Joules and probably some of their most beautiful pieces yet, including those beautiful pom pom trimmed cushions!

After a few hours browsing the utterly gorgeous new things, us lucky prize winners were whisked off to the local Bill's for lunch with Tom Joule (!!!) and what a lovely chap he is! We spent hours chatting away over a lovely girly lunch and I made friends with a gorgeous little lady called Ava, aged 4, who was truly scrumptious, though when she pulled her vintage Polly Pockets out, the whole table starting ooh'ing and aah'ing at the little treasures, it was almost as exciting as our awesome goody bags!

Then when everyone filtered off home, I hopped down to Regent Street for a spot of shopping for my boys ( I couldn't possibly come home empty handed) and then met lovely Becka for dinner and another girly catch up. I so wish we could do this more often!

I had such an impressive, wonderful day, I would very much like to thank Joules, Mr Joule and lovely Sam for treating me to such an unforgettable day.

Hotel Maiyango

Last weekend, Dan and I celebrated our fourth anniversary together. As a special treat, Dan booked us a night at a local boutique hotel and a table for the evening. We had been looking forward to our trip for months.
With Mr Bee happy at home with his Nana, we arrived at the hotel around 4 o clock. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room. There had been some mix-up concerning our table booking, in which we were advised we would be receiving room service as an alternative. Luckily for us, there was a reservation and they prepared one of their romantic booths for our evening meal.
Everything was absolutely perfect, from the service of the staff to the tiny details in the room. The specially made furniture was beautiful and the Cowshed toiletries in the bathroom were a big hit! We were made to feel very special indeed!
We spent a while in the book shop (like old times) before checking out the cinema times and booking tickets for Breaking Dawn (pt 2). We returned and freshened up and killed some time taking goofy photos in the mirror!

We had our first evening in the Cinema De Lux Directors Hall where we enjoyed wine and nibbles brought to our seats in the cinema. Then we headed back to the restaurant for our reservation.
In our favourite cocktail haunt, we tried new drinks and feasted on possibly the nicest meal we have ever eaten. Compliments to the chef indeed! Then we retired to our room to enjoy the deep fill bath and rain shower before settling in to the HUGE bed.

It was a crisp morning looking out on to Leicester's High Street, blissfully quiet (unlike kick out time at 3am...). We headed up to the gallery for a wonderful breakfast selection. The fresh croissants were just fantastic! Before heading home, we did a little more Christmas shopping for our little bee.

Thankfully, Mr Bee had been a little star for his Nana, only asking for us once the whole time we were away. I guess he didn't really notice we were gone!

What a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary, it is going to be hard to top that next year!
