A Boy and his Den

Two and a half weeks and we are gradually getting used to being back at school! The days are still jam packed and we are busy bees indeed. I hoped that January would bring us some peace, so maybe there is hope for February?

Wednesday is a work free zone for me, so whilst Mr Bee was at school, I built him a huge den in his bedroom with the goodies sent to us from Philips. He had a super time hiding with his toys in his own little cosy space with Sulley to keep him company. I was sad to tidy it away at the end of the day, but I am sure with this chilly weather at present, we will find ourselves building many more dens!

And after a long day at school, swimming, playing and homework, the little bee is happily snuggled up with his new pal.

This was a sponsored post, however any views expressed are my own.

Calke and Calke Explore

Today I took my sleepy sausage to Calke to meet Anna, Isaac and Alistair for a day out. He was quite sad all day and not himself, I think he needs to stop waking up in the night!! We spent most of the day trying to hide from the sun as it was soooo hot but we still had a lovely time.
After Anna and her boys went home, we did a little loop and went back to visit Calke Explore, the brand new woodland adventure play area hidden in the Calke forest.

What a fantastic little area they have created for such a range of ages, well done Calke!

Sleep and a Tempur Pillow Giveaway

It has been four and a half years since this little bee joined our family, and that is four and a half years of broken sleep.

Oh yes, he does look so angelic when he is sleeping but don't let it fool you, he doesn't sleep for long. We currently have all hopes pinned on school wearing him out so much that he will finally give us some peaceful sleep, without the little demon coming to prod or tickle us, or just have to do some ridiculous task in the middle of the night.

When Booths sent us a Tempur pillow, we never dreamed that we would have to surrender it to Louie, but mid-morning he crept into our bed, kicked Pappy out and slept soundly on this comfy pillow. I would like to say that he continued to sleep but we can keep wishing right?

For your chance to win a traditional Tempur pillow worth £75 enter the giveaway below.

Good Luck!

Poorly

Mr Bee came down with the chicken pox at the weekend, new spots are still appearing and whilst he is being such a star, he is very sleepy. He usually has one little nap in the day, around half an hour to an hour, but he has been having two or three in one day. Other than that, he has been himself and not scratching at all.
I have had a dreadful cold and luckily there has been people around to look after me. Today however, everyone has gone back to work so we are fending for ourselves today.
We have been tucked up in blankets, snuggled in lots of cushions and drinking hot juice all day. Bambi has had three runs to keep my little Bee content :)
Papa has been a bit poorly too but he has been a trooper and gone to help Grandad for the week.
Hopefully we will all be better soon and we can get out of the house again!

Home body

Today we stayed at home. As usual, we had our play day with Anna and Isaac but instead of going on an adventure, we stayed in.
Mr Bee and I made a special cornflake cake before they came. He did all the hard work (including licking the spoon of course!)
Then we played, chatted and had lots of yummy food, homemade chicken goujons with salad and crispy bacon for lunch and cream teas later in the afternoon.

Fifty Nine

Happy Birthday Mom!
Yesterday Mother Hen turned 59, only one more year until the big one and the holiday to the east coast of the USA!
We celebrated with a dinner at our favourite lovely restaurant, Ashfields.
Mr Bee was an angel all evening. He ate all of his dinner and then decided he was tired. He lay across two chairs and snuggled for a while but didn't sleep for very long, he heard 'ice cream' and perked right up!
They bought out the cake, it was supposed to be pink but was a little more brown in the middle but everyone seemed to like it anyway. And luckily the marshmallow topping stayed intact too, that took me an age to whisk! (And I am not exaggerating, it wasn't finished and I had been at it for over an hour!
Louie stayed awake until 10 o clock and then went to sleep rather quickly as you can probably imagine!
Hope you had a lovely day Mom :)

Home Again!

Well after a 9 hour journey up the country on Saturday, we are finally home! Mr Bee didn't have a great car journey, he was very hungry all the way home, despite eating everything in the car. He did quite enjoy the I-Spy book that Papa and I kept busy with on the long journey. We couldn't believe the amount of rare cars we saw on our way home, racking up points spotting a Mini Marcos and 3 Talbots on the motorway!

Once home, we were greeted with some goodies from the garden. Juicy strawbs ready to eat and a few spring onions ready for salads.

Another thing that survived the 9 hour journey was a litre tub of Mr B's ice cream. After four visits whilst on holiday, I decided that I needed a bigger fix of Jaffa Cake ice cream, so I requested a tub just for me. Worth every penny I say!

I picked up a bunch of my favourite flowers from the shop next to the parlour, a nice way to brighten up our bedroom now we are home.
Unfortunately, Mr Bee seems to be a little bit poorly. He has his final back teeth coming through and he isn't eating and sleeping lots, the poor poppet. Hopefully he will be back to his bouncing self soon :)
