Hebden

We spent the weekend up north, to celebrate the second birthday of our nephew (and cousin) Dylan. Saturday we spent traveling up and attending the party. Sunday, Fathers Day, we spent at Hebden Bridge. Only half an hour away from the family home, we cross the border in to Yorkshire for this quaint little town.

We had a lovely Fathers Day breakfast in the Organic House Cafe, I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area, they do a great range for veggies and vegans!

It was a dreary and damp day but we had a little wander around to look at the ducks. Mr Bee was adament that we had to go over the super old bridge which is central to the town. He spent ages looking at the ducks before we set off to visit Great Grandma in her home.

This little fellow was waddling up the high street quacking so loudly, it was a funny sight!

We had a lovely Sunday Roast courtesy of Grandpaw and set off back home (stopping off at our favourite Starbucks en route of course!) ready for the shopping to be delivered.

Fathers Day 2012

We started Fathers Day with breakfast in bed for Papa, made by Mr Bee and I. What a feast, egg (although it seems to be missing from the picture) and soldiers, bacon sandwiches, proper tea and orange juice, Papa was very surprised!
Our celebrations started early, as we weren't sure if Papa would be at home for Fathers Day, so on Friday he was treated to a very special breakfast, bowling and a late lunch in one of our new favourite restaurants.
Luckily, Papa was around all day, so Mr Bee suggested we went for a walk in the woods. It was lovely to see grass at Swithland, I don't think I have ever seen anything other than mud and leaves before, but we don't usually walk here in summer.
Happy Fathers Day to a great Papa :)

Fathers Day

First cuddles with Papa
So as it was fathers day, I let Dan choose what he wanted to do for the day, and he decided he wanted to make calzone, so make calzone he did!

Making the bases

Ready for the oven
Waiting for them to cook! Time to play with Mr Bee!

Kisses for Papa

How yummy do they look!

For fathers day, I had no idea what to get Papa Bee. So I decided to use up the fabric paint I have had lying around for nearly a year and make him something for Uni, so he can show off to his friends!

So we made some handprints and turned it into a pencil case. I say we, as Louie really did help in all aspects, with the handprints more obviously, but he sat on my knee as I was at the sewing machine and helped turn the dials and feed the fabric through the foot. Clever 16 month old boy!

Needless to say, Papa Bee loved it :)
