Country Fair

What a wonderful way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. Browsing a neighbouring villages country fair. We particuarly loved the Land Rover display but there was so much to see, a little frontier village, a Battle of Britain fly past, all sorts of dog shows, tractors, stalls. Just wow!

Wintery Weekend

This weekend we have been up to all sorts!

A wintery walk down to Starbucks for a lunchtime treat.

 Stopping off to watch the cars of course.

 Lots of playing, including reading about choo choos to Monkey and Gorilla.

 And playing sleeping lions.

 Nana brought home a new friend, his name is Nan-noo.

 After my craft fair, I cracked on with Mr Bee's party invitations, only just over a month to go now before the bee festivities commence!

 Anticipated hot chocolate on sticks from the craft fair, saved for tonight though.

 Early morning drive to Lincoln for the Christmas Market with Nana and Jules. It was more unbelievably busy than you could ever imagine!

 Unfortunately, we didn't really see much that took our fancy at the market, not that we could get to stalls if we wanted to! (Yes, it was THAT busy)
But I did bring some goodies home, mostly craft bits, a metre of beautiful fabric, ribbon and some cute pegs to hold on my price labels, and some beautiful colouring pencils to keep in my bag for Mr Bee.

That is it now for craft fairs this year, I think there are a few projects I will focus on before Christmas, but I will keep you up to date. It will be our family party next weekend, and I am taking Mr Bee on a special trip in Sunday so hopefully I will have a lot to write about next week!

Craft Fair and Giveaway!

Today I had my third and last craft fair of the year. It was held a stones throw away from our house which was handy. I had a rather large table which I was afraid of filling, but I managed to fill it up quite nicely. aq
The fair, which was to raise money for our local Brownie and Guide unit, was really quite busy however people didn't really seem interested in my stall. I don't think it helped that I was put next to an elderly lady who had made hundreds of handmade cards, selling them for 50p! It did pick up though, and I managed to bring home a modest profit :)

Craft Fayre coming up

I have been super busy this week, trying to get everything ready for my first Christmas Craft Fayre. On Sunday, Papa Bee and I had an hour to ourselves and we went and had a coffee, with some christmas magazines for inspiration. I am really getting into the festive spirit now, and I know that Saturday will be the icing on the cake!

Finished Christmassy things

On Tuesday, I managed to get quite a bit done whilst Mr Bee was sleeping, and then again whilst he was playing in the evening. He has been a good boy for me this week. I am planning to take Mr Bee to Scalliwags in the morning though, as he is too busy with all of the exciting things to bother that I am sewing, so hopefully I will get the following things finished!

My 'To Do' list!

 I have been racking my brains trying to think of something to do with the gorgeous fabric I bought from The Sewing Cafe, and I have finally decided to make some packs of little quilted Christmas coasters. I have one nearly finished so far, so hopefully I will get a few more made before Saturday, they will be in packs of four. I also cut some more fabric for another wallet :)

I have been making a few more cards this time around, and have been worrying how I can display them. I managed to find a cardboard display unit which will do for now.

My First Craft Fair

Today was my very first Craft Fair.
It was really quite nerve wracking at the start, getting in and set up, seeing everyone elses lovely stuff. I knew I didn't have that much stock, and only a small table so I got set up really quickly.

In all honesty, it was quite a slow day, but I think I did really well for my first fair. I managed to break even about half way through, and managed to nearly double the cost of the table, which I think is pretty good! I managed to sell two gadget cases, an apron, rings, cards, lavender hearts and drawstring bags.

I did meet a lovely lady, from Bee Designs, who makes really beautiful cards and other papercrafts. I bought a beautiful handmade sketch/scrap book from her, with bumble bees on (of course!).

I do have another fair booked for December, if nothing comes up before then, but of course I will keep you updated! I have lots of festive ideas in mind for December, but now, my focus will be on getting Mr Bee's Christmas presents ready!

17 days to go...

Only 17 days to go before my very first craft fair!

I must admit, I have been a bit of a bad crafter for the past month or so :( I haven't been making as much as I had been earlier on in the year. But with such little time to go, I need to get into gear and make sure I have enough to showcase at the event.

This evening, I have been a busy bunny, cutting out things ready to stitch, doing stock checks, making lists and actually making some stuff too.

I made another little gadget case, they are getting easy to make now. I think I should have enough now :) And I got started on a utility apron too. I will need to make a few aprons to take with me. This one is particually handy though, as it has several pockets for your bits and bobs, great for crafters or to use as a cleaning pinny.

I have a few more rings that I would like to make, and really need to get cracking on the card front. I will also be taking with me drawstring bags, business card holders and my really lovely bunting.

The Fair

It has become a ritual that Louie and I hang out with Charlene and Lola on a Wednesday, the week before last we had an awesome morning at Go Kids Go, then headed back to theirs for a scrummy lunch. This week we decided to head to Abbey Park in our local town centre, for their annual fun fair.

There was a huge, raised bed sand pit for the littlies to play in, Mr Bee dived in, pretending to swim in the sand, they both liked to sit on the edge :)

 Then we decided to treat ourselves to going on a few little rides with the babes. First we went on the big wheel, which was lovely and tame. We got stopped right at the top to let other customers on, so we managed to get a lovely view of the fun fair.

Mr Bee really enjoyed this ride, as it was nice and sedate. He did keep a hold of the bars for the whole ride though!
Then we thought we would give the little rollercoaster a go... we wished we hadn't! It was a bit rickety and jumpy. Lola and Louie cried for most of the way around :/

 Then we finished up at the fun fair by going on the 'Ski Lift' ride, which Mr Bee was itching to go on! It was just a nice spinning round ride, and Mr Bee was dancing to the music and giggling and clapping! Definitely his favourite.

 What is really lovely about Abbey Park is the small petting area which has some rabbits, goats and varieties of birds. Louie really liked the rabbit, and was doing his cack-handed sign of rabbit, I wish I could have gotten a photo, as it is pretty funny!

 There is an everso small play park in the petting area, and of course we were led to it by the little ones. Mr Bee shocked me by running straight to this toy, climbing in and rocking away. We don't have a toy like this in our park, which is why it was a shock that he knew exactly what to do.

Then we spotted a chinook helicopter over head, that seemed to move really slowly. Which was nice as the littlies got to see it for longer.
We had a lovely afternoon, and by the time we realised it was nearly tea time! We will take a picnic next time and make a day of it!
