Swithland Wood

Winter has finally showed is icy head, it has taken long enough. We have been walking lots recently, last night Mr Bee dragged us out on a mile ish trip around the block before bed. This morning he insisted that we went for a walk in the trees to find some 'tweet tweets'. We got up early to take Papa Bee to uni, as his car has died once again :/, so we headed up to one of our favourite woodland spots, Swithland Wood.
As it was so early, it was very chilly and still very cold and frosty, but we enjoyed it none the less. The sun was incredibly bright through the trees making everywhere look utterly stunning.
We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a rather large 'tweet tweet'. A Pheasant crossed our path and hid in the tall grass, however when we came to pass it, it got rather scared and made the loudest noise and flew up into the air (quite slowly I may add) which frightened the life out of me but amazed Mr Bee. He thought it was fascinating and hilarious, as you can see below!

I also had the opportunity to have a play with the new camera. I am trying to not take pictures in the auto mode (none of these were taken on auto), but it is taking some getting used to!

Mr Bee was very pleased to see all of the trees, every now and then, he would gaze up into the stark branches to see what he could see. When he caught a glimpse or a sound of a bird he looked up and demanded they 'get down'. He was just being his usual friendly self.

We collected lots of pine cones on our walk which was surprising, Mr Bee doesn't usually like picking things up. We both ended up with pockets full!

We had a lovely morning walk, back in time for a nice warm cup of tea before lunch. With plenty of time for an afternoon outing too! Lovely!
