Wednesday at Wimpole

Before the end of last term, I promised Mr Bee that we would have some Wednesday adventures and though we started off abit dodgy, we have had a consecutive good Wednesday road trip! I knew Wimpole would be a good choice as we were spoilt for things to do. A beautiful house, a wonderful walled garden and the super Home Farm kept us entertained aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall day. However it was far too much for my camera, which decided to run out of battery half way through our day. That will teach me...!

But we did manage to snap some of the fun we had, though I must admit, we had a lovely relaxing time chatting away! I can't wait to visit again, with a spare battery!

Country Fair

What a wonderful way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. Browsing a neighbouring villages country fair. We particuarly loved the Land Rover display but there was so much to see, a little frontier village, a Battle of Britain fly past, all sorts of dog shows, tractors, stalls. Just wow!

Birthday BBQ

It's that time of year again, that we celebrate my Mum's birthday. In previous years, we have had quiet days out and parties but this year, I assembled my brother and sister and we arranged a little get together in one of our local country parks.

There were 13 of us in total, well 14 if you include little Jet, we set up three barbeques and the men made some delicious BBQ grub for us!

(me and my husband, formally of the Blues Brothers...)

And we finally, finally got everyone together for a family photo, something that we have never managed organise!!

Happy Birthday Mother Hen! It was a fantastic day!

The Peak District

Finally, we managed to tick something off our to do list. Each Wednesday of the summer holiday, I planned to take my little bee on an adventure. So far, our Wednesdays have been rubbish. So this week I was determined and we visited the Peak District to get our walking shoes on.

We walked from Ilan Park to Dovedale and managed to spend most of our day here, then as we weren't miles away, we visited Pappy at work and had a cheeky trip to Ikea ;) A Wednesday well spent!

4 Miles

I'm fairly certain I have the walking bug.
Today I got in 4 miles, a little solo jaunt around the countryside right on my doorstep. My goodness, I love where I live!

My walk took me up some roads, past some lakes, through some woods and a stream, wheat fields and a field with more broad beans than you could dare to even imagine!

 I even found a quarry!
