Ups and Downs

Ups: Having a great week at work getting so much done.Getting all dressed up for a work outing at the Leicestershire Business Awards and meeting some awesome people there. A spontaneous trip to York for Grandads birthday. A gorgeous meal at Chiquitos. Getting gorgeous gifts delivered at work! Driving through HUGE and deep puddles on the way home from work.

Downs: Killing my wrists and various other joints from working too hard. Car failing its MOT. Scalding my hand pretty badly on a mug of Tea. Snapping my glasses in two. Missing out on the 'New Business' Award. Getting really wet walking around York. New glasses shopping. Getting soaked from having the windows open and driving through a huge puddle!

Stolen

Today, Papa Bee stole my camera for our walk through the woods!

We walked quite a way before Mr Bee became too tired to carry on. He wanted to be carried so we pulled his muddy shoes off and Papa put him on his shoulders.
I reclaimed my camera!

When we made it back to the car, we sat in the boot and looked out into the woods with a nice cup of tea.

Today, Papa's car got in the way of our plans (again). Early morning playdough, special 'chocchoc toast' breakfast with Mama Tea and Baby Tea, brake disk change (which took ALL day), slumber, Mama time of playing with my camera and tea, biscuits and Saturday Kitchen, making lunch with all the play food in the kitchen, Welsh Rarebit lunch for the second day in a row, packing a bag to go to 'Peterbaba' to see Vito and Becka (followed by a failed escape mission on his trike), a documented nappy change in support of Real Nappy Week 2012, Chicken and Mushroom Risotto, more kitchen play, clearing the conservatory for a mass cleaning session, bath time, bed.

Typical weekend at home at the Bee Hive!

Bradgate Park with Anna and Isaac

This afternoon, after lunch at our favourite little tea room, Mr Bee and I went for a lovely walk through Bradgate Park with our friends Anna and Isaac.
Although it was threatening to rain, we went ahead anyway, equipped with my umbrella (which was swiftly stolen by a small pair of hands....).
We soon found ourselves walking along the stream where we saw beautiful waterfalls and also a group of boys who seemed to be on a photoshoot. Mr Bee was far too interested in what they were up to and kept gatecrashing their shots! He wasn't very happy when they asked me to take some photos for them though!

I can't believe how grown up my little Bee is getting. He looks more and more like a big boy every day, and acts more like a big boy too. He was adamant that he wanted to walk off on his own, and that he was far too warm to wear his jumper.

We saw a few Defenders on our walk, I was a happy bunny. Mr Bee was happy to see a tractor and a Mini (his favourite car).
He caused lots and lots of giggles from other visitors to the park when he made himself comfortable on a rock and pretended to go to sleep!
Luckily, we managed to turn back and make it to the car before the rain came. The heavens opened as we were leaving the car park! Mr Bee slept all the way home, he was so well behaved all afternoon despite having no sleep so he certainly needed a nap!
We hurried home for a nice, warm cup of tea and a natter before Anna and Isaac went home. Lovely afternoon :)

Padded Lens Bag

This afternoon whilst Mr Bee was sleeping, I sewed a padded drawstring bag for my lens. It is just the right size to fit either of my lenses and padded enough to provide enough protection if I don't want to take my big camera bag.
Just what the doctor ordered!

As It Should Be

Sleeping in, cardmaking, watching the F1 in bed, gardening, sewing the quilt, playing with the cars, short rain showers, grazing on chocolate left from Easter, making bookmarks, watching old movies, pinning away, washing Nana's caravan, The Butterfly Lion at Curve, Black Delilahs at Mai Yango, playing with the pusscat, using the potty more and more, plenty of laughter, playing with Mama's old rollerskates. Just how a weekend should be.

Ashby de la Zouch

On Thursday I had a day off, because of the Bank Holiday weekend. As Thursday is Mr Bee's nursery day, Papa Bee and I had a whole day all to ourselves!
Mr Bee started his new nursery, so I watched from the window as they walked across the road to playschool.
Papa Bee and I decided to visit Ashby de la Zouch as it is a place we haven't visited. We enjoyed perusing the nice little shops and had a beautiful picnic from the Deli, Black and Blossom.

We headed on to Ashby Castle to eat our picnic, and proceeded to get rather wet!

When we picked Mr Bee up from playschool, his key workers were absolutely thrilled with him. He had been playing with the big boys, making everyone laugh and generally had a great time! They were so impressed at his level of understanding, speech and general development that we were incredibly proud of him. We are just so pleased that he has settled in so well. The next morning when he woke up, he went straight to his window and asked to go to playschool, he must have had a good time!
