Legoland
We spent this weekend spoiling Louie with a trip to Legoland Windsor!
Even since he was a tiny baby, we couldn't wait to take him to this wonderful place. There is not a day that goes by without Louie playing Lego, it is by far his favourite 'toy' and just about everyone knows it!
We got up early, telling Louie that we were going for a picnic at a National Trust property (his fave!) that was a long way away. We arrived at about 10:30 at the funniest looking NT property Louie had ever seen :P
We had a full fun day at Legoland, thoroughly taking in half of the park. We visited 'Bricks' for our evening meal which was just perfect after a long days play. With it being buffet style, we all ate as much as we could manage, but Louie couldn't sit still for too long, there was far too many exciting things to see and do!
After our meal, we settled into the bar whilst Louie took in the kids entertainment. Though it was aimed at slightly younger kiddies, he played along and enjoyed it anyway. Then we made our way to our home for the night.
We stayed in the Legoland Resort Hotel in an Adventure room. Every little detail had been catered for, from Lego toiletries to a real treasure hunt with a lego prize for the bee.
Someone was far too excited to sleep, and woke up several times in the night to play lego.. though in the morning, he did build this dragon (the wings fell off!) with the Lego provided in the room.
After breakfast we packed our bags and set off for day two in the park. Hotel guests are allowed into the park a little earlier, so we took advantage of no queues and headed straight for the Driving School. Sadly Louie didn't want to come anywhere near us, so we didn't get a photo, but it was definitely a highlight for us all!
After making the most of the quiet period, we made our way to the part of the park everyone had been waiting for... MINILAND!
My particular favourite bits were the Minack Theatre and Santa Pod but the aerial view from the helicopter ride was absolutely wonderful!
We spent most of the day visiting the other half of the park that we didn't see on Saturday, but we made sure that we had a little time to revisit some of the rides we particularly enjoyed, especially Mia's Riding School, which sounds like a lovely little tame horsey ride, which is actually a spinning disk of doom - it was excellent!!
Louie was asleep before we had even made in to Windsor, it is safe to say that we all had an excellent and fun filled weekend!
