Through New Eyes

Last week I picked up my new camera so I have spend these past few days exploring and getting used to my upgrade. We have spent the entire weekend busy as bees at National Trust properties whilst Pappy and Bob have been laying the patio for us so today, Bank Holiday Monday, we have had a very chilled day, catching up on washing, baking scones and playing lego. Just the standard rainy bank holiday really!

Have I mentioned that I love where I live?

A sunny sunflower from Hanbury Hall on the wet and soggy Bank Holiday.

Ooooh, and my business cards arrived last week too! Have you visited my photography website yet? Hop along to www.heidimcclymontphotography.co.uk.

 How does she suit me?

And that was our week, the last week before going back to school. I can't believe our little bee is going in to Year One tomorrow, where does the time go!

Hanbury

Sunday. A trip out with Nana and Grandad and Louie.
What can I say? It rained pretty much aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall day! But we had a lovely time wandering the gorgeous grounds and ticking things off the '50 things' list!

 My little farmer!

Hanbury is known for its produce stall in the walled garden. Last year we bought purple runner beans (which were delicious!) but this year didn't disappoint. I couldn't resist this beautiful handtied bouquet and all day I had people asking me where I got my beautiful flowers from!

And without disappointing the little bee, we went pond dipping, den building and had a good long play on the little park. It has been one hell of a busy weekend, but it was definitely worth it!

Belton with my Bee

Today Louie and I made a little trip over to Grantham to visit Belton House for the day. Apologies in advance for the Louie spam... if you want to see more photos of Belton, check out my NT blog ;)

'I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down'

We spent the entire afternoon chilling in the garden, eating cake, exploring the gorgeous house (theres always more things to see!) and then playing in the extensive play areas, inside and out! I'm pretty sure it was a good way to round off his first ever Summer Holiday.

Home

I just can't believe that it is coming up to the anniversary of spending a year in our house! This time last year we were totally stressed about Solicitors and moving but oh, it was worth all of it to have our own little house, in our own little piece of England.

Our house hasn't changed too much since we moved in, however we have turned it from a plain white box into a homely, white box. Though we are yet to add any colour to our walls (it is high on our to do list), we have added character to our house in other ways.

A few months ago I made a little blind for our kitchen window. Although I am proud of my handiwork, it is a stationary blind and the Mr doesn't really approve, so it seems that I will now be on a mission to find a new blind for the kitchen.

I may have fallen a little bit in love with this gorgeous Bambi print which is a Disney and VELUX collaboration (available from https://www.roofblinds.co.uk). Though I know someone small would approve of having the character from his favourite Disney film adorning our kitchen window, I don't think the big one would be persuaded!

Elsewhere, we have been making little updates here and there. We finally got around to getting a floor lamp for the living room, however none of us are happy with the emergency lampshade we bought! We are on a serious hunt for something grey and skinny! This gorgeous hare lampshade (available at http://www.lollyandboo.co.uk/) is just downright perfect don't you think!

I am sure there will be plenty more things that we will add to our house, we have so many plans and though the house already feels like home, I am sure that feeling with only grow. Here's to many more happy years in our little abode!
