Bank Holiday Adventures

Bank Holiday Monday.

On our way home from Grandma and Grandpa's, we took a slight detour to Dunham Massey. It is a HUGE National Trust property just outside of Manchester, so we thought it would be the perfect place to spend a few hours this bank holiday afternoon.

Gosh we were wrong!
After queueing to get in to the car park, we then queued some more at the ticket office. We decided just to take in the house, as the gardens and parklands were chocca. Thankfully, the house entry was on a timed ticket so there wasn't so many people inside.

During the First World War, Dunham Massey was transformed in to Stamford Hospital and this is how it stands now. The wards are still how they would have been and the rest of the house is magnificent. Some rooms are still under dust sheets and some rooms look utterly splendid. It was a brilliant mix of the two identities.

Mr Bee enjoyed rolling up the bandages and then bandaging up Felix, he really had been in the wars!

Regrettably, we weren't able to partake in another Easter Egg Hunt as we had planned, we simply didn't have the time or notion as it was so, so busy. But we are sure that we will pay this beautiful place another visit, just not on a Bank Holiday!
