Peaceful

Our weekly playdate with Anna and Isaac was called off because of illness, so Nana asked if we would take her to visit Calke Abbey for the day. We enjoyed a peaceful day walking, exploring and playing. We spotted new flowers, bunny rabbits and baby lambs. The weather was verging on chilly but when the sun shone, it was glorious!

We picked up a new cook book, Calke Estate sausages for our tea, a bunch of freshly picked rhubarb and some new plants to try and keep (wish me luck!!).
On our way home, we stopped off to have a sneaky peek at the holiday cottage we have booked for the wedding, it is the most perfect, quaint cottage with spectacular views (but sadly, not much parking!). I am so glad that we finally found it, and that it was even better than we ever expected. And hurrah, I finally purchased the second bridesmaid dress in the correct size, which I have been waiting to come back into stock for weeks! Perfect!

One crazy week.
Busy with work, busy with friends, busy at home and away.

London

A fairly last minute trip to our capital. No firm plans, we just got the train and saw where we ended up.
Lunch in Premier Gardens at Leicester Square, a shopping haul at Uniqlo, H&M hopping searching for a dress, an afternoon for Mr Bee - the Princess Diana Memorial Park and a few hours ice skating.
Of course no trip to London is complete without a visit to South Kensington for Hummingbird Cupcakes (and to oogle the Lambos in the swanky showroom).

A little boy who walked around London all day, from 10am until nearly 9pm, was thoroughly shattered and slept all the way through the night, perfect!

Essentials

A big clear out of my make up bag, stripping it down to the bare bones for every day.

I was seriously sceptical about this product but it is seriously amazing. I have noticed a marked improvement in the quality of my skin in the two weeks of using this mineral powder which was more than I ever expected. I love how easy it is to achieve a natural coverage.

The little magic pot. I was blown away by this concealer, never before have blemishes been covered so successfully without even a hint of caking. I had no intention of buying a concealer when I visited the counter but as soon as it was applied, I knew it was coming home with me.

After watching a lot of bridal make up tutorials, I learned that a finishing powder was a must, so I bought one of these not long after Christmas and have been using it to set my make up. Of course, I find it works much better with the rest of the Bare Minerals range but it sure does its job, and gives a gentle glow to boot.

I love this palate, you can create so many different looks and the quality is just fantastic.

I have always loved eye shadow sticks. Just a quick smudge and off you go, simple and effective when you don't have ages to apply make up!

A totally reliable concealer which I now use as a back up for really dark/red blemishes.

An old faithful and something I can't live without!

Happy Birthday Ivy-Rose!

This weekend we had the honour of being invited to the first birthday party of the beautiful little Ivy-Rose! She had a wonderful party complete with face painting, balloon animals and a Baby Sensory class which was great for all ages (including the grown ups!)

With only a handful of weeks left at University, Pappy has an awful lot on his plate.
We are trying to keep out of his way so that he can get his head down.
